About Us

California Contractors Insurance Services, Inc. is a licensed construction bond and insurance agency, with over 65,000 licensed contractors, many of whom have been with the company for more than 10 years. Since our predecessor, Joseph E. Pappalardo Insurance Services, began servicing contractors in 1968, our agency has maintained a perfect license record.

Our goal is to obtain bonds and insurance for our contractor clientele with optimal premium rates and structure. We write with several insurance companies, allowing us the resources to find the best fit for our clients. We always deliver prompt, professional service so that contractors can quickly address their bonding and insurance requirements in a simple, hassle-free way and return their focus to their contracting business.

We also believe that investments in automation and technology further allow us to reduce the cost of delivery and pass those savings on to you in the form of lower premiums. As you can see, our quoting and processing systems are integrated with the Contractors State License Board database saving you time and money.

Joseph Pappalardo
General Manager
He has a decades experience providing surety and insurance for contractors. Named after his grandfather who started this business in 1968, he hopes to live up to Joe's standards. If he had to pick a contractor trade it would be concrete, focused on stamped patios in residential backyards and the stamps would be in the shape of Keith Haring figures.
Cole Bogue
New Business Manager
She has multi-faceted experience in both commercial and personal insurance & surety, spanning six years. She comes from a long line of contractors and spent much of her childhood on a jobsite. If Cole were to be licensed as a contractor she would be plumber, so that when the apocalypse happens she would be able to properly pipe clean water to her small hidden living space.
John Pappalardo
Renewal Manager
Experienced in providing surety bonds, liability insurance and certificates for all current customers. Through his time in customer service he has also given many unofficial therapy sessions. If a contractor, he would be an electrician and try to keep overhead costs shockingly low and income comfortably static. Not to mention he would do jobs himself to avoid any workers compensation insurance.
Ben Woodard
He is the accountant at California Contractors Insurance Services for the past 5 years. If he didn’t tackle financial accounting, he would be a roofing contractor. He would enjoy the time spent outdoors working on his non-existent tan while literally, "putting the roof over your head." Win-win.
